Verdant is a beautiful strategy board game for 1-5 players that plays in 30-45 minutes.
In Verdant, you take on the role of a houseplant enthusiast trying to create the coziest space by collecting and arranging houseplants and other objects within your home. In this multi-layered spatial puzzle, you must position your plants so that they receive the most suitable light conditions and take care of them using various nurture actions to create the most verdant collection!
Verdant features over 50 unique plants for players to collect and care for, each with accurate individual attributes, facts about the plants, and stunning artwork!
Verdant comes with a variety of end game scoring goal cards allowing you to mix and match new challenges each and every time you play! There are hundreds of unique game setups to explore! Create a beautiful tableau of plants, pets and furnishings as you compete to curate the coziest home!
The game is designed by Molly Johnson, Aaron Mesburne, Robert Melvin, Kevin Russ, and Shawn Stankewich – designers of titles such as Point Salad, Dollars to Donuts, Calico, and Overboss. It is developed and directed by the team behind Calico and Cascadia, along with new team member Joseph Z. Chen, designer and publisher of Fantastic Factories. The graphic design is by Dylan Mangini and artwork by Beth Sobel who have each designed and illustrated countless gorgeous board games.
Kickstarter backers of Verdant receive a set of 16 Promo Cards FREE! With the addition of these cards, players will have new ways to play with the Potless Plants mini-expansion which adds completely new gameplay elements, as well as additional goal cards adding hundreds of new combinations of puzzles to the mix!

Verdant can be played solo! The solo mode elegantly simulates a 2-player game experience by turning the token and card drafting into a shifting market. Players must make difficult decisions about which cards and tokens to take, as each turn brings changes to what is available. Players must also strategically set up for future turns as Green Thumb Token bonuses cascade through the market, but will be eliminated if too many accumulate on a single card. The solo mode is a quick and relaxing experience that is simple to learn, and does not require the upkeep of an AI player, while still offering interesting puzzly choices and challenging thresholds to overcome! If you enjoyed the solo modes in Calico and Cascadia, you will feel right at home with Verdant!
Verdant also has a Family Variant! If you are playing with children, those new to gaming, or you just want to make the puzzle and rules a little simpler, you can play with the included Family Variant rules. These adjusted rules streamline the game so that anyone can get in on the action!
With this range of gameplay modes, Verdant can be tuned to offer different game experiences to different players, depending on experience level and preferences!
